The City of Allentown is steadfast in its pursuit of safer roadways and transportation networks. With a deep understanding of the profound impact that a well-structured Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Action Plan can have, the City is embarking on a transformative journey to prioritize safety enhancements and justify essential investments. The SS4A Action Plan will adopt a holistic approach to address safety concerns across all transportation modes and provide a roadmap for safety improvements with equitable outcomes at its core. What is Safe Streets for All (SS4A)?

SS4A is a U.S. Department of Transportation program that provides grants to local communities for planning and implementation activities to prevent deaths and serious injuries on roadways. The City of Allentown received a Safe Streets for All grant to complete a SS4A Action Plan. Following the completion of the Action Plan, the City will apply for SS4A Implementation grants to implement interventions and improvements identified in the Action Plan.
