2026 Season

The site will be open for Winter Hours on the following dates (weather permitting):

• Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm
• Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00am to 12:00pm

The yard waste site will officially open for the season on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
The yard waste site will operate under Regular Hours from April 1 until November 21, 2026:

• Wednesdays, from 8:00am to 4:00pm
• Saturdays, from 8:00am to 2:00pm

Only Allentown residents are allowed to use this site. Contractors/landscapers may not use this site for drop off of material.

Accepted materials: 

• • Grass
  • Weeds
  • Flowers
  • Hedge Trimmings
  • Leaves
  • Branches

Not accepted: 

• • Dirt, Soil, Compost, Sod
  • Rocks, Stones, Concrete/Cement, etc.
  • Flower Pots
  • Wood, Lumber, Railroad Ties, Fencing, etc.
  • Bamboo (call the Recycling Office for disposal instructions)
  • Trash, Construction Debris

Mulch Loading Services (loading is done by City staff)

Available during the regular season: April - November
Wednesdays, from 8:00am to 11:00am.

There is a fee of $12 per bucket load (approx. one cubic yard).
Must be paid in advance at Recycling & Solid Waste office, 641 S. 10th Street. Payments accepted Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
No payments can be accepted at the yard waste site.

Free self-loading is available during regularly scheduled Drop Off hours.

Curbside Collection of Yard Waste:

• Collected every other week, year-round.
• Use the reference map below or use this search tool to determine your pick-up nights.
• Can be placed out in either brown paper lawn bags or rigid containers (no larger than 32 gallons).
• Please place Yard Waste stickers on rigid containers being used for collection. Stickers are available for pickup at the Recycling Office, or request by mail by calling 610-437-8729.
• Yard waste will NOT be accepted in plastic bags or Allentown recycling bins.
