Businesses, including schools, hospitals, and institutions must plan to dispose of their waste properly. Businesses are also required to recycle various items, including paper, glass, metal, plastic, and yard waste. A business should pursue one of the two options below: 

Option 1, for small businesses: Small businesses may apply to be included in City Curbside Collection for twice-weekly trash pickup (5 bags or 2 cans per collection) and once-weekly unlimited recycling.

Option 2, those ineligible for City Collection: Businesses not eligible for City Collection must contract with a licensed hauler for both trash and recycling services.

The City-run Document shredding services and a drop-off center are available for Allentown-based businesses at no charge.

Please note, SWEEP tickets are issued for recycling and trash violations, such as using City collection services without payment.
