The Public Works department oversees several annual programs that impact the health, convenience, and comfort of city residents and the community. These programs include maintaining and repairing all city streets, bridges, stormwater lines, and sidewalks. Additionally, the department manages a comprehensive traffic signal and signing network. They are responsible for the design of public works projects, the review of related construction, and the maintenance and repair of all city motorized equipment. The department also handles the collection and disposal of solid waste and is in charge of maintaining and repairing city-owned buildings.

The recycling office on S 10th St will be closed on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
This holiday does not affect any curbside collections in the City – all residents should place out their trash, recycling, and yard waste as normal.

Christmas Tree Collection
There are no longer designated weeks specifically for the collection of Christmas trees. Real trees can be placed out curbside on your regularly scheduled yard waste collection night. Make sure to remove any lights and decorations, and please do not put the tree in a a bag. If you are unsure of your yard waste collection night, please use this search tool.
Flocked, spray painted, and fake Christmas trees can be placed out as a bulk trash item on your 2nd trash night of the week.
