JULY 4TH COLLECTION SCHEDULE

Trash, recycling, and yard waste collections are canceled on Thursday night, July 3rd. Residents in the Thursday night collection zone are asked to hold their trash and recycling (if applicable) until their next collection night. Please place out both trash and recycling for collection on Monday night, July 7th.

Residents in the Thursday night BLUE yard waste zone are asked to hold their yard waste for one day. Please place out yard waste for collection on Friday night, July 4th.

All collections on Friday night, July 4th, will be collected as normal - the holiday does not affect this collection zone.

Trash is collected twice a week with the following limits:

    • Up to 5 bags (30 gallons, 40 pounds each) OR
    • 2 cans (32 gallons, 70 pounds each) per night
  •

Only regular household trash is allowed; no tires, bricks, concrete, stone, TVs or electronics.

Only accepted on the second night of your collection week, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, with the following limits:

  • 1 bulk item (furniture, mattress, etc.) per week OR
  • 40 pounds of construction material, bundled or in a trash bag/can.

Recycling is collected once a week on one of your designated pickup nights. Please refer to the map to determine your recycling night. Unlimited curbside recycling is allowed with City-issued bins.

  • Recycling Bins are available free for pickup at 641 S. 10th St., Mon-Fri 8 am-4:30 pm.
  • Recycling is single stream, meaning all recyclables (bottles, cans, cartons, paper, cardboard) can go into same bin. Bigger cardboard boxes may be flattened, bundled and placed next to the Recycling Bin.

  • Organic material only (grass, branches, hedge trimmings, garden waste, etc.) in rigid containers (32-gallon max) with yard waste stickers.
  • Can be placed out in either brown paper lawn bags or rigid containers (no larger than 32 gallons).
  • Please place Yard Waste stickers on rigid containers being used for collection. Stickers are available for pickup at the Recycling Office, or request by mail by calling 610-437-8729.
  • Piles of loose branches must be bundled and tied.
  • Bamboo is NOT accepted, please contact the Recycling Office for guidance.
  • Yard waste will NOT be accepted in plastic bags or Allentown recycling bins.
