“Public safety has been our top priority, and these numbers reflect the hard work of our police officers, community organizations, and residents,” said Mayor Matt Tuerk. “We are proud of the progress we’ve made and remain committed to creating an even safer Allentown.”

A key component of the city’s success has been the integration of cutting-edge technology. The Allentown Police Department has leveraged Flock Safety LPR cameras, which send real-time alerts when a stolen vehicle or known suspect is detected in state or national crime databases. Additionally, the city implemented the Flock Safety Raven audio detection system, which identifies gunshots and alerts law enforcement, capturing audio evidence to aid investigations. These technologies supported 349 police investigations in 2024, enhancing officers’ ability to respond quickly and effectively.

“I want to thank the men and women of the Allentown Police Department for their dedication to excellence in policing,” said Police Chief Charles Roca. “By combining innovative technology with community support, we’ve achieved historic reductions in crime, including homicides. We remain committed to collaborating with our law enforcement partners and community organizations to make Allentown a safer city for all.”

Beyond technology, Allentown has invested in modernized policing techniques, community engagement programs, and targeted crime-prevention efforts. These initiatives have fostered trust and collaboration between law enforcement and residents, creating a unified approach to public safety.

As Allentown continues to grow and evolve, the City remains dedicated to maintaining these low crime rates and ensuring a safe future for its residents
