Nutrition and Physical Activity

Program Description:
The Nutrition and Physical Activity Program focuses on cardiovascular health, diabetes, nutrition, obesity prevention, osteoporosis and physical activity. The program provides cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure testing to City of Allentown residents. Participants with elevated cholesterol or glucose receive individual counseling by the Public Health Dietitian to help improve their diet.

  2. Nutrition counseling for overweight youth
  3. Summer recreation program for children ages 7-13
  4. Community education - nutrition, physical activity, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and obesity
