January 28, 2026 – The City of Allentown continues snow cleanup operations across the city following the recent winter storm. Crews are focusing on removing snow from some primary roadways, while continuing to clear snow off secondary roads and alleyways.

Today, crews are focused on clearing snow off the west side of 7th Street from the city line to Union Street. Additional planned snow clearing operations include:

  • 4th Street from Chew to Gordon Streets – scheduled for removal tonight
  • Hamilton Street Bridge – final cleanup scheduled for tonight
  • East side of 7th Street – scheduled for Thursday

Roadways scheduled for snow clearing have been posted with No Parking notices to allow crews to safely complete operations. The Allentown Police Department will work in partnership with Public Works to tow vehicles that remain in the posted No Parking areas.

Beginning Monday, February 2 at 7 a.m., crews will begin snow cleanup operations in District 9. Crews will continue working through secondary streets and alleyways to improve travel conditions.

In partnership with the Allentown School District, snow is in the process of being removed from Ritter Elementary, Sheridan Elementary, and Central Elementary.

To assist residents during snow removal operations, the Allentown Parking Authority is offering free parking at the 940 Linden Street Parking Deck through 8 a.m. Monday, February 2. Standard parking rates will apply after that time. Please note: event parking rates will apply to vehicles entering the deck during the following times:

  • Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31 from 4-8 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 1 from 12-4 p.m.

Vehicles entering the deck before or after these times will not be charged.

Residents are reminded to assist with cleanup efforts by following City snow removal guidelines:

  • Clear sidewalks along your property. Sidewalk ramps to the street should be cleared all the way to the curb.
  • To remain ADA compliant, residents are required to clear a minimum 3-foot-wide path on sidewalks.
  • Snow may be piled on the sidewalk, as long as the required clear path is maintained.
  • Do not throw snow back into the roadway, as it slows cleanup operations.

Residents are encouraged to call the City’s Snow Hotline at (610) 437-7669 to report missed streets or snow-related issues in their area.
