The City of Allentown is excited to announce the return of Lights in the Parkway, an annual holiday tradition lighting up Lehigh Parkway from Friday, November 28, 2025, through Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. (closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year’s Day).

November 24, 2025 – The City of Allentown is excited to announce the return of Lights in the Parkway, an annual holiday tradition lighting up Lehigh Parkway from Friday, November 28, 2025, through Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. (closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year’s Day).

This season, the City is proudly partnering with Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, WFMZ TV, and Da Vinci Science Center as Presenting Sponsors, enhancing an experience that draws visitors from across the country. As part of this partnership, Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital will offer a special giveaway for youth visitors, while supplies last.

Visitors can drive through over a mile of enchanting holiday displays featuring more than 242 wrapped trees and over 260,000 LED lights – higher than any previous year.

"Move It Mondays" is back allowing visitors to walk, bike, or stroll through the displays. The Parkway will be closed to vehicles on December 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and January 5, with an additional walking day on Tuesday, January 6. These nights will feature partnerships with local groups to celebrate diverse cultural traditions and themes:

  • December 1: Polar Express
  • December 8: Health & Wellness featuring snow yoga
  • December 15: Hannukah with the Jewish Community Center of the Lehigh Valley
  • December 22: Christmas with Santa Claus
  • December 29: Kwanzaa with Resurrected Life Church
  • January 5: Three Kings Day with live nativity scene
  • January 6: Movie in the Park featuring Disney’s Frozen with Frozen characters

This year’s volunteer groups include PA Premier AAU, JFMSON Student Nurses, PAL, Allen and Dieruff High Schools, O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, and Lincoln Leadership - Senior Class 2026. These groups are accepting cash donations on-site or via online donation with a ticket purchase.

Tickets are available exclusively online at allentownpa.gov/LITP. No on-site ticket sales will be available. General admission is $16 per vehicle and Commercial Vans, Minibuses, or Limousines under 14ft pay $26.

Visitors should enter the parkway from Martin Luther King Drive onto Lehigh Parkway East, following wayfinding signs throughout the City. Maps and additional information are available on our website.

The City of Allentown’s Parks Maintenance Department has creatively designed and installed this display with energy-efficient LED lights and new RGB programmable lighting for all installations.
