The Allentown Police Department establishes specialized task forces staffed by highly trained detectives to address various criminal activities and community safety concerns. These task forces focus on targeted investigations, collaborating with other law enforcement agencies, and implementing proactive measures to combat specific criminal issues. Through dedicated efforts, task force members work towards reducing crime rates, resolving cases, and fostering community awareness. 

The Allentown Police Department assigns specially trained Detectives to the Lehigh County Auto Theft Task Force.  These Detectives investigate all facets of auto theft within the City.  This includes the overall reduction of auto thefts, stolen vehicle recovery, identification and prosecution of chop shops and related activity, assistance and expertise to regional law enforcement agencies in matters of auto theft, and provides awareness to the public though local community events and training.

Remember to always lock your car!  Take the keys with you when you are away from your car.  Don't leave your car running and unlocked.
