Allentown Parks and Recreation Department is now offering special classes for children and youth to learn important skills for being safe and confident in the water. These classes are perfect for beginners who might not have much experience swimming. Our goal is to provide participants with a variety of water-based drills for important safety and survival skills and to increase comfort and endurance in the water.

Skills covered may include:

  • Survival swimming skills (kicking, floating, treading, survival strokes)
  • Treading water
  • Using a life jacket
