About

The City is committed to fostering a diverse vendor base that encompasses not only established enterprises but also small and emerging businesses. Our objective is to actively support family-owned and small establishments, providing guidance throughout the application process for various opportunities. The overarching goal is to facilitate the registration and adherence to requisite procedures, ensuring accessibility to procurement opportunities for entities of all sizes.

We communicate Bids, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and Quotation opportunities to prospective vendors through Public Purchase and the City website.

If you are interested in conducting business with the City of Allentown, we utilize Public Purchase—an online service—for vendor registrations and solicitation opportunities. This user-friendly platform is free to join and enables you to update your information at any time. Follow the steps outlined below to get started:

  1. Sign up with Public Purchase: Go to their website, choose 'Free Registration,' and wait up to 24 hours for your account to activate. You'll get an email from notices@publicpurchase.com when your registration is accepted.
  2.  Register with the City of Allentown: Once your Public Purchase account is active, log in, agree to their terms, then start your City registration. You'll need to select the NIGP Commodity Codes applicable for the products or services your business offers and fill out a W-9 form for tax purposes. This step must be done to get notifications about solicitation opportunities from the City.
