About

The goal of the Emergency Preparedness program is to protect the City of Allentown from emergencies and risks to the public's health. The program plans for the prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery of emergencies.

We work tirelessly to keep the residents of Allentown safe and prepared for unforeseen emergencies. Our focus is on ensuring the city is ready to respond effectively, recover swiftly, and protect public health during any crisis. We dedicate ourselves to various aspects of emergency preparedness, including personal, family, and workplace readiness. Our team conducts extensive education, outreach, and training programs to empower individuals and groups to handle emergencies confidently. We collaborate closely with local, state, and federal partners to develop, test, and implement emergency plans customized to the unique hazards and risks within our community. Through our commitment to risk communication, health information dissemination, regular emergency plan reviews, and drills, we aim to keep the city well-prepared and informed, ensuring everyone's safety during times of adversity.
