About

The Child and Family Services program, for residents of Lehigh County, is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children within our community. We offer a range of initiatives designed to safeguard children, provide essential resources, and empower caregivers with crucial knowledge.

Car Seat Safety Program: For caregivers needing a car seat, we assist in acquiring appropriate seats and provide guidance on proper installation and child restraint use. Through car seat check events and personalized appointments, we ensure the correct installation and educate caregivers on traffic safety.

Safe Sleep Program: Supporting caregivers with children under two without safe sleep locations, we provide a safe sleep location and educate on safe sleep practices, reducing the risks associated with sleep-related deaths.

Preventing Injuries in Children Program: Targeting pregnant persons and/or caregivers with children under nine, our program conducts home visits to identify injury hazards. We offer recommendations, education, and home safety and childproofing supplies like smoke and CO alarms and cabinet locks, aiming to mitigate fire, fall, and other safety risks.

Child Abuse Prevention Classes: In collaboration with the Lehigh Valley Crime Victims Council, we organize weekly classes for parents and caregivers to recognize signs of child maltreatment and abuse, promoting a safer environment for children.

Our mission is to create safer homes and communities by providing essential resources, education, and support, ensuring every child's safety and well-being.
