About

The Maternal and Child Health Program at the Allentown Health Bureau is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of infants, children, adolescents, pregnant people, and families by offering vital health education, advocacy, and supportive services.

 

What We Do

Our program is committed to promoting positive health behaviors, educating families, and enforcing childcare ordinances to ensure a healthier future for children. We provide comprehensive services including:

    • Prenatal, Newborn, and Child home visitation, health education, and advocacy
    • Supportive home visits for at-risk families with infants and children
    • Prenatal education and support visits for pregnant Allentown residents
    • Infant and child health education for agency staff
    • Advocacy and assistance in accessing essential services
    • Inspections and guidance for childcare centers
    • Childhood Lead Exposure Prevention
    • Menstrual Equity Advocacy Work
