Captain of Patrol

Captain Daniel Gross, Jr was hired in January 2002.  He attended and graduated from the Allentown Police Academy then was assigned to the 1st Platoon as a patrol officer. In September 2006 he was assigned to the Youth Division as a Detective. He was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division from 2010 to 2013 as a Detective.  He was promoted to Sergeant in August 2013 and assigned as a Detective Sergeant in the Criminal Investigations Division.  In May 2014 he was assigned to the 1st Platoon as a Patrol Sergeant.  He was assigned to the 4th Platoon as a Patrol Sergeant in August 2017.  He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in December 2019 and assigned as Lieutenant of the 4th Platoon.  In December of 2021 he was promoted to the rank of Captain and assigned to Captain of Patrol.  Captain Gross has received eight commendations – one for Valor, one for Bravery, four for Merit, and two for Achievement.
