The City of Allentown Parks & Recreation Department Learn to Swim Program is taught by American Red Cross Certified lifeguards and is broken up into four separate learning levels based upon students swimming ability.

Level 1 – Get comfortable in the water and learn basic freestyle and floating skills
Level 2 – Perfect your freestyle; learn basic backstroke, sidestroke,  kneeling dives and treading water
Level 3 – Continue perfecting your freestyle and backstroke; learn breaststroke, rotary breathing and how to do a standing dive.
Level 4 -  Continue perfecting your strokes and diving while learning the butterfly stroke and increasing cardiovascular endurance. 


Ratio is 1 instructor to 4 participants in Levels 1 & 2.     
Ratio is 1 instructor to 6 participants in Levels 3 & 4.    

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Preseason registration takes place at the Recreation Office prior to the pool opening for the 2019 season
Where: 3000 Parkway Blvd
When: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
 

*Registration at Mack Pool during hours of operation will begin on Saturday June 15th          

LESSON INFORMATION 
Location:   Mack Pool 

Ages:         3-13 years old 
 

Cost:          Resident-  $50.00 per child
                          *proof of residency is required
                   Non Resident- $100.00 per child 

Session Dates:
                   June 17th- 28th
                   July 1st-11th
                   July 15th-25th
                   July 29th - August 8th
                   August 12th-22nd 

Session Times:
                   5:45-6:15pm
                   6:30-7:00pm
                   7:15-7:45pm

Session Format:
30 minute lessons are held Monday through Thursday with inclement weather make ups on Fridays. All levels are offered during all available time slots
