"Black Panther" at Stevens Park

The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to present the 4th installment of the 2018 Movies in the Park season on Friday, June 29 with the showing of“Black Panther” starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o. The movie is set to begin at dusk at Stevens Park, located at 6th and Tilghman streets.

“After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king and as Black Panther gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young kind must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.”

The approximately 134-minute movie is rated PG-13.

The movie will be preceded by a Play Street event presented by Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown. The Play Street event will take place from 3:00pm-8:00pm and includes a DJ, arts and crafts, popcorn, cotton candy and refreshments.

The rain date is Saturday, June 30.
