Two City of Allentown Police Department K9 teams came away with trophies during the Salisbury Township Police Department’s 3rd Annual K9 Police Trials.

Officer Matt Geake and K9 Beny and Officer David M. Howells III and K9 Fedor were among 16 teams competing last Saturday from areas including New Jersey and Delaware. Officer Geake and K9 Beny captured first place in the “call off” event and second place in the “obedience” category. Officer Howells and K9 Fedor finished third in the “fastest dog” event.

Each team was given the option to enter in five areas, which also included “agility” and “double decoy” events.

The competition raised $2500. Proceeds benefit past fallen officer families and Hounds on Working Leashes.
