The Wire Mill Bridge at Lehigh Street and MLK, Jr. Drive in the City of Allentown will reopen to traffic tomorrow afternoon. The bridge has been closed for repairs since early December.
Professional Construction Contractors Inc. of Bethlehem was awarded a $295,000 contract by the County of Lehigh to make repairs to the superstructure and open grid steel decking. This repair will extend the life of the bridge until its anticipated 2019 – 2020 replacement.
Traffic detours have been in place for the duration of the project which is being completed just ahead of its estimated three month time frame.
