There will be NO trash or recycling collection in the City of Allentown on Sunday night, Christmas Eve, December 24 and Sunday night, New Year’s Eve, December 31.
The next trash collection in this area will be on Wednesday night, December 27 and Wednesday night, January 3. Ten bags of trash are allowed on those nights only. Sunday night recyclers can place their recycling bins out on Wednesday night, December 27 and January 3.
Please remember to recycle cardboard, gift boxes, wrapping paper and greeting cards. Bows and metallic paper are not permitted.
Christmas trees and other yard waste will be collected on customers’ recycling night the second and fourth weeks of January (January 7 and January 21). Residents should take the tree out of the stand and remove all decorations. Trees should not be placed in a plastic bag. No artificial trees will be accepted. The collection will be weather dependent.
The Yard Waste Site at 1401 Oxford Drive will be open on Saturday, January 6, February 3 and March 3 from 10am to 12pm weather permitting for yard waste drop-off and electronics recycling. Residents are asked to watch for new traffic patterns inside Yardwaste site.
The city will accept computers, keyboards, monitors, electronics, printers, scanners, laptops and televisions for recycling from Allentown residents only. Driver licenses will be scanned to verify residency. Residents are permitted three TVs per address per year.
