Mack Pool Opens Saturday

The City of Allentown Department of Parks & Recreation will open Mack Pool for the 2017 season weekends only on Saturday, May 27 until Saturday, June 17, when it will open daily for the season.

Jordan and Irving Pools will both open daily beginning on Saturday, June 17. Cedar Beach Pool is currently under reconstruction and is expected to open in early to mid-summer.

“We’re all anticipating a fantastic season at our pools this summer,” said Director of the Department of Parks & Recreation Lindsay Taylor. “They are a great place to cool off, have a lot of fun and get some exercise.”

Daily admission is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children ages 4-to-17 at Jordan, Mack and Cedar pools. At Irving Pool, the cost is $2.00 for anyone age 4 and over.

The pools are open to the public daily from 12 noon until 7pm, weather permitting.

Allentown’s two free spray park locations at Buck Boyle Park and Old Fairgrounds Playground will be open daily beginning on Saturday, May 27. Hours are also 12 noon to 7pm.

Buying a pool pass for the summer is a great, inexpensive way to spend time with your family! Swim passes are an excellent value.

Season Pass Rates:

Mack, Jordan & Cedar Pools – $50.00 for City of Allentown residents ages 4-to-59. Resident Family Passes can also be purchased for $150.00; which includes up to four persons, of which two may be adults. Additional children may be added to a family season pass for $25.00 each. Active military and resident veterans may purchase a discounted season pass for $25.00.

The non-resident season pass fee is $80.00 for individuals ages 4-to-59. Non-resident seniors age 60+ and non-resident active military and veterans will pay $50.00 for a season pass. Non-resident families can purchase a season pass for $300 which includes up to four persons, of which two may be adults.

Irving Pool- $20.00 for any City resident age 4 and over; $40.00 for non-City residents. These season passes are only valid at Irving Pool.

City of Allentown residents over the age of 59 are eligible for free swimming passes. In order to claim a pass, senior citizens must come to their local pool with proof of residency and a photo ID.

The Parks & Recreation Department’s scheduled Friday, May 26 showing of "Finding Dory" at Cedar Pool and the Water Safety Palooza, scheduled for Saturday, May 27 at Cedar Pool have been postponed and will be rescheduled.
