The Rental Office in the City of Allentown’s Bureau of Building Standards & Safety is moving back to City Hall and will be in operation in its new offices on Monday, December 12.

The Rental Office will be moving from Bridgeworks (641 S Tenth Street) to the 3rd Floor of City Hall at 435 Hamilton Street. The Rental Office has been located at Bridgeworks since 2008. The move brings all Building Standards inspections back into one building.

City staff from Building Maintenance performed all the work related to the move except for carpet installation.

The Rental Office is responsible for Systematic Inspections, Pre-Sales Inspections, Registration, Licensing and complaints relating to all rental housing in the city.

The phone numbers for the office (610-437-7694 and 610-437-7695) and for pre-sales inspections (610-434-7697) remain the same.

The vacated space at Bridgeworks will be filled by a move of the Bureau of Recycling & Solid Waste offices which have been located in a trailer at the recycling drop-off site at 1400 Martin Luther King Jr., Drive. That move is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
