The Department of Parks and Recreation presents“Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” as the final installment of the 2016 Movies in the Park season on Friday, September 16 in the Arts Park, located across from the Allentown Art Museum at 5th & Court streets.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens” stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Harrison Ford.

“Thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the galaxy faces a new threat from the evil Kylo Ren and the First Order. When a defector named Finn crash-lands on a desert planet, he meets Rey, a tough scavenger whose droid contains a top-secret map. Together, the young duo joins forces with Han Solo to make sure the Resistance receives the intelligence concerning the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker, the last of the Jedi Knights.”

The approximately 135 minute movie is rated PG-13 and will begin at dusk (approximately 7:30pm).

Pre-movie activities begin at 6:15pm and include storytelling by the Allentown Public Library, a Paint & Party activity (reservations required), and a live lightsaber duel by Allentown Shakespeare in the Park!
