First Seats Installed at PPL Center

The first seats in Allentown’s PPL Center are in place!

They were delivered via limousine and walked on a red carpet into the arena for their installation where State Senator Pat Browne and Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski were given the honor of being the first to sit following their installation.

The seats are manufactured by Irwin Seating Company of Grand Rapids, MI. They are made, shipped and installed by chair components starting with legs, followed by backs, seats, and accessories including number tags, armrests and cup holders. All seats come equipped with cup holders. Front row seats have cup holders on the arm rest.

During the five week installation process at the Seventh & Hamilton streets arena, A.H. Butz contractors will install 7,009 bowl seats, 1099 club seats, and 533 suite seats. All seats are expected to be in place by the week of August 18.

PPL Center will seat more than 10,000 spectators for concerts and more than 8,500 for hockey. PPL Center is home to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the American Hockey League affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Philadelphia Flyers.
