Pawlowski Elected to USCM Advisory Board
Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski has been elected to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Advisory Board.

Pawlowski was tapped during the USCM 82nd Annual Meeting this past weekend in Dallas. More than 200 of the nation’s mayors from cities large and small convened at the OMNI Dallas Hotel to discuss the economic health of the nation’s cities, transportation, education, housing, help for returning Veterans and the minimum wage.

Trustees of the USCM, along with the top three officers and past presidents make up the Executive Committee of the organization. The Advisory Board functions in an advisory capacity to the Executive Committee on all matters of policy and program.

The Advisory Board consists of mayors who are members of the Conference of Mayors who have been active in the organization in advocating policy on Capitol Hill and to the Obama Administration. Pawlowski is the only Pennsylvanian among the 28 members of the board.

“It has been my pleasure to speak to members of congress and the Administration on legislation of interest to the USCM,” Pawlowski said. “It is important that Pennsylvania’s third largest city be represented in the discussions of national urban policy that will affect Allentown for decades to come.”

Pawlowski currently serves as Vice Chair of the USCM Community Development Committee. He also chairs the newly formed pipeline safety task force focusing on education and regulations to improve the infrastructure designed to transport combustible substances through our communities.

The USCM is the official non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are nearly 1,400 such cities in the country today.
