Ribbon Cutting at Youell's Oyster House
05/29/2014
Dinner crowds are once again flocking to Youell’s Oyster House in the 2200 block of Walnut Street in Allentown.
Mayor Ed Pawlowski attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the popular dining spot on Monday, May 19. Youell’s had been destroyed in a January 2013 fire. Construction on the new $2 million building and restaurant project began in September and was completed in March. The project was aided by a $150,000 low interest loan from the City of Allentown Economic Development Loan Fund.
The new 6,000 square foot building includes a mezzanine level and a rooftop garden. The first floor seats 120 patrons and the mezzanine level can seat 40 more.
Businesses interested in applying for a loan from the Allentown Economic Development Loan Fund should contact Business Development Liaison Duane Tolson at 610-439-5964 or at Duane.Tolson@allentownpa.gov.
