The City of Allentown today issued a Notice of Contract Award to DanFrank Enterprise, LLC d/b/a Jack’s Slice to be the concessionaire for the restaurant at the Allentown Municipal Golf Course.
DanFrank Enterprise, LLC and the city will enter into a lease that will terminate on December 31, 2015. DanFrank Enterprise, LLC will pay the city $30,000 annually. There is an option to extend the lease for two additional two year terms upon mutual agreement of the parties. Under the DanFrank Enterprise, LLC proposal, lease payments would increase in each of the option years. According to the terms of the city’s Request for Proposal (RFP), the two sides have 14 days to enter into a lease.
DanFrank Enterprise, LLC plans improvements to the facility, including new outside patio furniture, the addition of a second bar area to the other side of the dining room, numerous high definition television sets (including an outdoor television to be used for sporting event viewing), a walk-in cooler in the basement for specialty beers, fresh plants and flowers to maintain the feel of the outdoors inside all year round, the construction of an additional service building on the golf course to provide additional service to those engaged in golf, and the use of golf card food service to cover all areas of the facility.
The restaurant is required to be open 30 minutes before the first tee time and during November, December, January and February as mutually agreed upon.
DanFrank Enterprise, LLC was among six respondents to the city’s Request for Proposals to be the restaurant concessionaire at the golf course which were due on April 16, 2014. Others proposals were received from Sal’s Pizza Inc., Louie’s Restaurant, Elvio & Roselene Beito, RMM-LS LLC and The Trapp Door Gastro Pub. Eleven potential bidders had attended a mandatory pre-bid conference.
