The public is invited to the city’s Tree Lighting Ceremony from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 in the Arts Park at 20 N. Fifth Street.

The ceremony is presented by the city, the Downtown Allentown Business Alliance and the Allentown Chamber.

Santa Claus will light the tree and pass out toys to all the children.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Kendal Conrad and the Dieruff High School Choir. The Allen high School Dance Troupe will also be performing.

There will be a craft table and art ornament workshop.

There will be face painting for the kids and appearances by Lehigh Valley Phantoms mascot meLVin and characters from The Nutcracker.

Children can have their pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided.

The event is sponsored by PPL, Lehigh Valley Health Network, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union and Stuffed Puffs.
