The 700 block of Linden Street will be closed during daylight hours for approximately 10 days beginning on Wednesday, March 12 to facilitate a parking garage construction project. It is expected that the road closure could end on or before March 21. Should weather cooperate, the duration may be shorter.

The project will work with businesses on the affected section of Linden Street to allow for deliveries and customers’ access as necessary.

The road closure is needed for completion of the erection of the precast structure for the North Parking Garage located on the south side of Linden Street. Due to the size and weight of the panels, a 330 ton crane will be utilized and staged on the south lane of Linden St (left lane). The swing radius of the crane will impact the adjacent lane (right lane), requiring the road to be closed. Due to the number of picks, estimated to be between 15 and 20 per shift, a temporary lane blockage will not be feasible since the placement of the pre-cast component will be of longer duration than the current arrangement allows for just picking of material from the trucks.

Traffic will return to one lane each evening and night.
