A Flood Warning for the city issued by the National Weather Service expired at noon Friday.
The Little Lehigh was over flood stage in Allentown Friday morning after heavy rain deluged the area. That combined with the melting snowpack is causing widespread flooding across the region. Flows in rivers may increase quickly and reach critical levels.
In August, Little Lehigh Creek floodwaters resulting from Tropical Storm Isaias closed about two dozen streets in the city.
Motorists are urged not to drive around streets that may become barricaded due to flooding. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
