Walnut Street reopened this afternoon from Lafayette Street to St Elmo Street. That stretch had been closed for reconstruction since August 4 due to damage caused by creek flooding resulting from rains from Tropical Storm Isaias.

City crews have completed a base pavement course on the road. The wearing course will be added next month.
