Allentown’s Cedar Beach Pool will be closed through the weekend while the city works to acquire a replacement for a 25hp electric pool motor.
The pool’s main motor was damaged by water from a broken pipe discovered Tuesday, July 9 in the pool’s pump house.
Four pool feature pumps were also submerged in the pump house pit are still operable.
Once the pumps are operational, the pool water must be chemically balanced and tested before the pool can be re-opened to the public.
Delivery of the replacement motor is expected Monday, July 15.
The Allentown Department of Parks & Recreation reminds the public that Allentown season pool passes are good at any of the city’s pools.
