Vision 2030 Opening Community Hub

Allentown Vision 2030, the update to the City’s comprehensive and economic development plan, is opening a Community Engagement Hub in downtown Allentown. The Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub is a space for the public to learn more about the plan, share their ideas, and participate in community engagement activities and events.

The Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub is located at 33 N 6th Street at the corner of N 6th and Linden streets under STRATA Symphony apartments. The Community Engagement Hub will be staffed by the City of Allentown Bureau of Planning & Zoning and will be open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:00-5:00pm beginning Monday, March 4. The space will also be utilized for special events and activities associated with Allentown Vision 2030 and the plan’s community engagement work.

Allentown Vision 2030 – Your City, Your Voice! will be the city’s new Comprehensive and Economic Development Plan that will chart a path for inclusive, equitable growth over the next ten years. The plan will address the topics of housing, workforce development, economic opportunity, social equity, environment and conservation, community development, transportation, land use, historic preservation, open space, and a range of other concerns that affect the quality of life and vibrancy of the City of Allentown.

“We are excited to bring Allentown Vision 2030 into the community,” said Allentown Director of Community and Economic Development Leonard Lightner. “The Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub will be a space to foster community conversations and collaboration on how to shape our city over the next ten years.”

The space for the Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub has been donated by City Center Investment Corp. for the duration of the planning process. The Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub plans to be open through October 2019.

“City Center is pleased to offer its space for gathering community input on the future of our city and topics we care deeply about,” said City Center Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jill Wheeler.
