Allentown
Vision 2030, the update to the City’s comprehensive and economic development plan,
is opening a Community Engagement Hub in downtown Allentown. The Allentown
Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub is a space for the public to learn more
about the plan, share their ideas, and participate in community engagement
activities and events.
The
Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub is located at 33 N 6th
Street at the corner of N 6th and Linden streets under STRATA
Symphony apartments. The Community Engagement Hub will be staffed by the City
of Allentown Bureau of Planning & Zoning and will be open to the public on
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:00-5:00pm beginning Monday, March 4.
The space will also be utilized for special events and activities associated
with Allentown Vision 2030 and the plan’s community engagement work.
Allentown Vision 2030 –
Your City, Your Voice! will be the city’s new Comprehensive and Economic
Development Plan that will chart a path for inclusive, equitable growth over
the next ten years. The plan will address the topics of housing, workforce development,
economic opportunity, social equity, environment and conservation, community
development, transportation, land use, historic preservation, open space, and a
range of other concerns that affect the quality of life and vibrancy of the
City of Allentown.
“We
are excited to bring Allentown Vision 2030 into the community,” said Allentown
Director of Community and Economic Development Leonard Lightner. “The Allentown
Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub will be a space to foster community
conversations and collaboration on how to shape our city over the next ten
years.”
The
space for the Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub has been donated
by City Center Investment Corp. for the duration of the planning process. The
Allentown Vision 2030 Community Engagement Hub plans to be open through October
2019.

Mayor Ray O’Connell, the Allentown Department of Community and Economic
Development, the Bureau of Planning & Zoning, and Allentown Vision 2030
community partners at the new Community Engagement Hub at 33 N 6th
St on Wednesday, March 13 at 12 noon for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
