An estimated crowd of 10,000 spectators enjoyed a mix of sun and clouds, floats, bands and marchers during Sunday’s 2018 Allentown Halloween Parade!
The parade, established in 1905 and believed to be one of the oldest in the nation, was full of childhood characters and whimsical costumes, adhering to this year’s theme, “Storybook Favorites.”
A panel of judges evaluated participants in two categories: Floats and Marchers. Parade judges were City Council members Cynthia Mota and Courtney Robinson, and Board of Recreation members Hugh Gallagher, Hamp Smith, David Woodward and Rebecca Kiss. Judging criteria included presentation, creativity, enthusiasm, and fitting the theme.
Winners in the Floats category are:

2nd Place NYAA Cheerleading
3rd Place Cub Scout Pack 146
Winners in the Marchers category are:
1st Place Boston Terriers & French Bulldogs of the LV
2nd Place Girl Scout Troop 6169
3rd Place Inafrodios New Project
Winners receive monetary prizes.
Dance and performance groups XCAPE, and Small Steps, Big Dreams and marching bands receive a stipend for participating.
Parade spectators and participants are encouraged to use the Facebook and twitter tag “#hallentownparade” to post their pictures from Sunday’s parade.
