Allentown Trash Collection Resumes

Allentown Trash Collection Resumes

The city of Allentown will resume trash collection Wednesday night, January 27, in the Center City zone (N. Front Street to N. 11th Street, Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive north to the City limits) and also part of east Allentown (north of Hanover Avenue and east to Maxwell Street.)

Tonight’s collections will be for trash only. Extra bags of trash will be allowed as a result of the cancellation on Sunday. However, residents are asked to refrain from putting out bulk items (furniture, rugs, etc.) until next Wednesday night.

Residents are asked to place the trash out so that it can be reached from street-side without the trash being placed in the travel lane or falling into the travel lane. Waste Management crews will work as best they can to collect on the streets that are passable.

The next recycling collection in this zone will be on the regularly scheduled Sunday night.

Thursday and Friday night trash and recycling collections will resume this week. Residents in those areas are also requested to place their trash and recycling where it will not impede traffic.

Please call the Recycling Bureau at 610-437-8729 with any questions or go to www.allentownpa.gov.
