The City of Allentown's King and Queen of the Court spring basketball programs will be offered from April 11 to May 18 from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Trexler Middle School gym.

King of the Court will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays while Queen of the Court will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. These free basketball fundamentals programs are offered to boys and girls in 2nd through 7th grade that attend school in Allentown.

Both programs are an opportunity to learn the skills of basketball in a relaxed, fun, and friendly environment by teaching fundamentals of sport, team building, life skills and enhancement of self-esteem to elementary and middle school children.

Pre-registration is required at www.allentownparksandrec.com. Parents will need to create an account, receive approval, and then register their child before the start of the program. The program will follow Pennsylvania Department of Health and CDC guidelines to make activities as safe and fun as possible for all participants.

Trexler Middle School is located at 851 N. 15th St. Program participants should use the main entrance to the school.  

Additionally this summer organized youth basketball returns this summer to the Allentown Department of Parks & Recreation.

Registration is open now through May 23. Boys’ and girls’ leagues are being offered with separate age divisions for 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15–16-year-olds.

League games begin on Monday, June 5 and are played at Cedar Beach and Percy Ruhe Parks.

Team registration is required at www.allentownparksandrec.com.  Organizations, if they have not already done so, will need to create an account, receive approval, and then register their team before the start of the program.
