Plumbers' Licensing Information
Plumbers' Licensing Information
An applicant must submit a Journeyman Plumber License Test Application or a Master Plumber License Test Application, both found in Applications & Forms under the Home menu above, and an application fee to the Plumbers' Licensing Board, through the Building Office at City Hall, 435 Hamilton Street, 4th Floor, Allentown. The applicant must be approved by the Board prior to taking the exam. The exam is two parts, consisting of a written and design portion. A 70% or better is needed on each part to pass the exam. The exam is offered twice per year. Individuals who have submitted applications will be notified via mail of the next testing date. After the applicant passes the exam, the applicant will pay for and receive their license. The Business Regulation and Tax Code lists the license fees. Plumbers' licenses must be renewed each calendar year.
