FREE Flu Clinics
The best way to protect against influenza (flu) is to get a flu vaccine every flu season. Flu is a contagious respiratory disease that can lead to serious complications, hospitalization, or even death. Anyone can get the flu, and getting a flu vaccine is the single best way to protect yourself and your family. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to friends and loved ones.
The Allentown Health Bureau is scheduling flu vaccination appointments.
Call 610-437-7754 to schedule an appointment to receive a FREE flu shot at the Allentown Health Bureau, 245 N. 6th Street in Allentown.
Who is eligible?
Individuals 6 months of age & older are encouraged to get a yearly flu vaccine. There are no residency requirements to receive the free flu vaccine and we DO vaccinate pregnant women.
(NOTE: Anyone currently running a fever should not get vaccinated. Anyone with an egg allergy should go to their doctor.)
How much will it cost?
Free - We are not charging individuals who receive the flu vaccine. However, we are asking Medicare recipients to please bring your Medicare card with you.
If the cost is free, why do I need to bring my insurance card?
While the Allentown Health Bureau is providing the flu vaccine at no cost to you, it is important that the Health Bureau bill and get reimbursed by those insurance companies that cover the flu vaccine administration fee.
How can I get my flu vaccine?
Attend one of the scheduled flu vaccination clinics listed above. These are walk-in clinics; we do not schedule appointments for these clinics. Note: we no longer have flu mist available.
What should I wear?
It is recommended that you wear a short-sleeved shirt when you come for your flu shot.

Allentown Health Bureau provides the forms that you need to complete prior to receiving your flu vaccine and you can complete the forms when you arrive at the clinic. However, if you'd like to save time when you arrive at the flu vaccine clinic, please complete and bring the following with you:
1. Read the Influenza Vaccine Information Sheet (VIS)
2. Complete the 2012-2013 Vaccine Consent Form and bring it with you to the flu clinic.
