City crews are actively working to address trash and recycling collection challenges caused by last week’s snowfall, and residents are encouraged to report missed pickups and assist where possible.

Trash and recycling operations continue to be impacted by last week’s snowfall. City crews on middle and night shifts are actively working throughout Allentown to address areas where snow and ice conditions are still creating access challenges.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as this work continues. Residents can help support cleanup efforts by avoiding placing snow back into the street when clearing vehicles and shoveling sidewalks when possible, which helps crews safely access roadways and collection areas.

The City is continuing to coordinate closely with our trash collector as we work through remaining issues. If your trash or recycling was missed, please contact the Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste at (610) 437-8729 after 12 p.m. (noon) on the day following your scheduled collection. Staff will provide guidance based on your location and current collection conditions and work with you to determine the best way to get your materials collected.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue snow recovery efforts citywide.
