The City of Allentown has partnered with TD Bank to launch a new automated lockbox feature that will impact the 2022 City Real Estate Property Tax Bills.

The City of Allentown has partnered with TD Bank to launch a new automated lockbox feature that will impact the 2022 City Real Estate Property Tax Bills.

The automated lockbox feature will ensure that payments are processed and posted timely.

The City tested this operation with the September and November 2021 real estate tax notices. We’re pleased to announce it was a smooth process and are excited to continue this relationship with TD Bank.

As a result, Allentown property owners will see two changes on this year’s real estate property tax bill:

  • Payments should now be mailed to a designated lockbox: City of Allentown, PO Box 71479, Philadelphia, PA 19176-1479.
  • The coupon, which is now located on the bottom third of the bill, must accompany payment. Not including the coupon will delay processing.

The City will continue to accept and process payments on the 1st floor of City Hall for taxpayers who prefer to pay in person.

Electronic payments are not impacted by this new process.

Property owners will start receiving the tax notices in the mail this week. Those who don’t receive a notice, or have questions, can contact the Revenue & Audit Bureau at (610) 437-7506 Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
