October 1, 2024 – Today, Mayor Matt Tuerk and Finance Director Bina Patel announced that the City of Allentown’s proposed budget for 2025 will not include any increase in the property tax rates.

“We’re pleased to announce that despite rising costs and economic challenges, the City of Allentown’s 2025 budget will hold the line on property taxes,” said Mayor Tuerk. “Our team has worked to ensure that we can continue delivering critical services to our residents without placing an additional financial burden on homeowners.”

Finance Director Bina Patel emphasized that the city has taken a thoughtful approach to balancing the budget while maintaining essential services and making strategic investments in infrastructure, public safety, and community programs. “Through careful planning and fiscal responsibility, we’ll be able to put forward a budget that supports the needs of the city without raising taxes,” Patel stated.

The full details of the proposed 2025 budget will be published on October 10, giving residents and stakeholders the opportunity to review the city’s financial priorities and planned investments.

The proposed budget will be available for public review at City Hall, the Allentown Public Library, the Lehigh County Law Library, and online at https://www.allentownpa.gov/Government/City-Budget.

Public committee meetings will be scheduled by City Council to review each committee’s respective budgets.
