Allentown Awarded $1.5 Million to Boost Safety, Reduce Congestion, and Improve Multimodal Transportation
The City of Allentown has been awarded $1.5 million to improve street safety, reduce congestion, and prmote cleaner air through a series of transportation upgrades. The funding, secured through the Transportation Alternative Set-Aside (TASA) and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) in partnership with the Lehigh Valley Transportation Study (LVTS), the Commonthwealth of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Department of Transportation, was announced during a news conference at South Mountain Middle School.
The projects will benefit pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers across the city, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency.
