Captain Christopher Diehl was hired in June 2003, graduated from the Allentown Police Academy, and was assigned to the 1st Platoon. He was assigned to the Vice & Intelligence Unit in June 2007 and then was assigned to the DEA Task Force in June 2011. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in April 2016 and assigned to the 4th Platoon. He was assigned to the Vice & Intelligence Unit as Detective Sergeant in August 2017. He was promoted to the rank of Captain in February 2022 and assigned to Captain of Training and Special Services. He was assigned to the Allentown Police Emergency Response Team in 2007 and currently serves as a Team Leader. Captain Diehl has received nine Commendations: one Purple Heart, one for Valor, two for Bravery, one for Achievement and three for Merit as well as the Chief's award. He was the Allentown Police FOP Officer of the Year in 2016, Lehigh County Police Chiefs Association Officer of the Year in 2016 and the DEA Philadelphia Field Division Task Force Officer of the Year for 2015.
