Crime Prevention

The mission of the Crime Prevention Unit is to build partnerships between the Allentown Police Department and the community, to empower citizens through crime prevention education, and to promote an environment in which people act individually and collectively to prevent crime and build safer communities. The Allentown Police Department has a certified Crime Prevention Officer who is highly trained in many areas of crime prevention, including personal safety, senior safety, workplace violence prevention, robbery prevention, drug related education, and home security. The Crime Prevention Unit is available to assist business owners, residents, and neighborhood groups in the area of crime prevention; and work with other members of the Allentown Police Department to address neighborhood issues and facilitate problem-solving methods.
