The Allentown Arts Commission announces that nominations are now being accepted for the Allentown Arts Commission’s 30th Annual Arts Ovation Awards Celebration to be held in Downtown Allentown on September 27, 2018. The event celebrates outstanding achievements in the Arts.

The public is invited to submit their nominations in writing or via email in the following seven categories:
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN VISUAL ARTS: May be an individual and/or Arts organization who has made an impact in any form of Visual Arts in Allentown.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN PERFORMING ARTS: May be an individual and/or Arts organization who has made an impact in any form of Performing Arts in Allentown
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN LITERARY ARTS: May be an individual and/or Arts organization who has made an impact in any form of Literary Arts in Allentown.
OUTSTANDING SERVICE: May be an individual or organization who has had a major impact on the Arts through exceptional service, volunteerism, or leadership in Allentown.
OUTSTANDING PHILANTHROPIST: May be an individual, business, corporation, or foundation that has provided extraordinary support for the arts in Allentown.
OUTSTANDING TEACHER IN THE ARTS: An individual who has taught the arts in Allentown K-12 or higher education institutions, and had an outstanding impact on their students.
EMERGING ARTIST: An award given for an emerging talent in any form of Allentown Arts.
Only fully completed nomination forms will be considered. Honoree must attend the Arts Ovation event on September 27th, in person, to accept the award.
Eligibility Guidelines: Individuals or Arts organizations whose achievements have had a significant and positive impact on the citizens of Allentown and the quality of life in Allentown’s Arts and Cultural communities. Award recipients will be selected from the nominations received by the Arts Ovation Committee of the Allentown Arts Commission.

Nominations must be submitted by no later than July 17, 2018 by 4pm. Each must contain the name, address, phone number and email of the nominee, as well as the specific category of the nominee. A summary is requested stating why the nominee meets the qualifications for the award. Name, address, phone number and email of the nominator are also requested. Applications for nominations are available online at www.allentownpa.gov/Arts
