The city of Allentown and private contracting crews have removed snow from 46 stretches of streets in the city through Monday, February 1. Two front-end loaders and approximately 13 tri-axle trucks joined city crews in a massive operation to recover from the record 33-inch snow storm in the city that ended Saturday, January 23.  That was later expanded to more than 40 contracted vehicles to assist in the effort.  The private contractors worked with city crews into the morning of Saturday, January 30.

The following is an updated list from the morning of Tuesday, February 2 of Allentown streets scheduled for snow removal…

Tuesday 2/02/2016 beginning at 7am until the snow is removed:

Linden Street from Front Street to N 6th Street - In progress

Coronado Street from Lehigh Parkway South - Lehigh Parkway Elementary School - In progress

17th Street SW from Lehigh - Coronado Street - In progress

 

Tuesday 2/02/2016 beginning at 3pm until the snow is removed:

9th Street from Washington Street - Sumner Ave

Turner Street from Railroad - 3rd Street

Jordan Street from Gordon - Turner Street

 

Thursday 2/04/2016 beginning at 7am until the snow is removed:

Gordon Street from N 12th - N 17th Street

Snow has been cleared from most major routes. 

The city has no reports of any impassable streets or alleys.
