The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is proud to present the next installment of the 2015 Movies in the Park series tonight with “The Goonies” at Roosevelt Park, located at the intersection of Saucon & S. Woodward streets. The show will begin at dusk.

“The Goonies” is celebrating its 30th anniversary on the silver screen. It stars Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, and Corey Feldman.

“Mikey (Sean Astin) and Brandon Walsh (Josh Brolin) are two brothers whose family is preparing to move due to a new development that is sure to be started unless enough money is raised, which is quite doubtful. But, when Mikey stumbles on a treasure map of the famed "One-Eyed" Willy's hidden fortune, he, his brother, and a few friends (The Goonies) set out on a quest to find the riches in hopes to save their homes.”

Pre-movie activities will begin at 7:15pm with a bilingual storytime provided by The Literacy Center, followed by a kids’ treasure hunt at 7:45pm!

The movie is rated PG and runs for 114 minutes. The rain date for this movie is Friday, July 17.
