Employee Emergency Information

Lehigh County is listed in a substantial area for risk of spread of COVID-19.  Case numbers are rising and the best way for us to protect each other and our loved ones is to take precautionary measures.

As a precaution and in following recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, please note the following.

Effective Monday, August 9, 2021:

  • A face mask, which covers the nose and mouth, will be required to be worn by all visitors and city employees in all city buildings, no matter one’s vaccination status.
  • Persons with a medical condition or disability that prevents wearing a face covering are exempt from the mask requirement.
  • All city employees are required to wear a face mask while performing work indoors. (note: if you are in your private area, you may remove your mask, providing there is the “six-foot physical distancing.” As soon as someone enters your workspace, you must wear your mask. As soon as you leave your work area and are traveling throughout, it is required that you be masked.)
  • Whenever possible, city employees should avoid sharing a vehicle. When deemed necessary by management, all occupants of the vehicle are required to be wearing a face mask.
  • Whether indoors or outdoors, the “six-foot physical distancing” rule should be utilized by all city employees, whenever possible. If “six-foot physical distancing” cannot be maintained outdoors, masks should be worn.
  • City employees who are not feeling well or have concerns of possible exposure to a COVID-19 positive person, need to communicate this information to their immediate supervisor as soon as possible. Management will work with the Office of Human Resources to determine an appropriate course of action.

Members of management are responsible for making sure that all of their employees are aware and complying with this directive.
