Pawlowski Invited to Meet Poland President
Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski will be in New York City tomorrow night to meet with Poland President Bronislaw Komorowski.
President Komorowski is arriving in the United States today for the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Pawlowski will meet President Komorowski at the Polish Consulate in New York City.
“It is an honor to be invited to meet with the president,” said Pawlowski. “President Komorowski took office under very difficult circumstances. He has championed reforms while respecting Polish traditions and values.”
As a result of the tragic death of President Lech Kaczyński in the Smoleńsk, Russia plane crash catastrophe on April 10, 2010, Komorowski, as Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, became Acting President of the Republic of Poland under the regulations of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. He won the presidential election on July 4, 2010.
